Festival of Flowers at Chelmsford Catherderal
Press Release
15th October 2009
Chelmsford cathedral was the setting for the ‘Ode to Joy' festival of flowers held from the 9-12th October.
Writtle College floristry degree students were asked to create eight designs, six for the pillars. These had to co-ordinate with other designs within the cathedral in a colour palette of aqua blue, creams and vibrant orange.
Jayne Hammond, lecturer in Professional Floristry said: "The floristry degree course was launched at Writtle College just a few weeks ago and we were delighted to be invited to participate in such a prestigious event."
The students involved found the experience a great benefit to their course and a valuable opportunity of working with other floral designers. Kim White, one of the students involved, added: "It was a challenge but was a great way to start our degree course! I look forward to what the rest of the academic year will bring".
